FLS Case Portal — Instructions
The FLS Case Portal is the secure online case file for matters before Temporary Judge James L. Waltz at Orange County Family Law Solutions. People with access to a case can view the Register of Actions, open or download lodged documents, see participants and hearings, and (when the portal offers it for their role) lodge PDF documents for that case.
Case documents on the portal are private to that case. Only the people FLS has given access to in that case can see them.
How you get access
- FLS adds you to the case on the portal.
- You receive a welcome email from FLS Case Portal (portal@ocfls.com).
- Subject line looks like: You have access to [case number] on the FLS Case Portal.
- The email names your case and role, and tells you to sign in with this email address (the one that received the welcome). There is no password — FLS will email a one-time code when you sign in.
If you expected access and have not received that email, check spam/junk, then contact the FLS Case Manager at claire@ocfls.com (use the email address you believe should be on the case).
There is no password. Sign-in uses a one-time code emailed to you.
- Open the FLS Case Portal: https://ocfls.com/Portal
- Enter the exact email address FLS invited (the address that received the welcome).
- Choose Email me a code.
- Check that inbox (and spam/junk) for a message from portal@ocfls.com with a subject like Your FLS Case Portal sign-in code. The body has a 6-digit code.
- Keep the same browser window open. Enter the code there and sign in.
Code rules: The code expires in 30 minutes, works once, and works only in the browser window where you asked for it. A new tab or different device will not accept that code — request a new one there instead.
If a code does not arrive within a few minutes, request a new one. If you have asked several times and still cannot sign in, contact claire@ocfls.com.
What you will see after sign-in
My Cases
The case(s) FLS gave you access to (case number and title). If you have only one case, the portal may open it automatically. You will not see other people's cases, Staff tools, or Settings.
On a case page
- Register of Actions (ROA) — newest first. The docket for the case, including lodged documents and related case activity. You can open or download documents on your case.
- Participants — who has a role on the case.
- Hearings — hearing and brief-due dates when they have been set.
- Lodge a Document — shown when your role allows lodging.
If the portal does not offer lodging for your role (for example, a party represented by counsel, or view-only team access), documents are lodged by counsel with lodge rights. Self-represented parties with lodge permission will see the lodging form.
Use Sign out when you are done. If your session ends, sign in again the same way.
Lodging a document (when the portal offers it)
- Open the case → Lodge a Document.
- Choose a document type, add a short description if needed, and select a PDF only (size limit shown in the portal).
- Check the acknowledgment: lodging through the portal is not submitted to the court and is not service on other parties.
- Choose Lodge document. The portal adds an ROA line and notifies the FLS Case Manager.
Common issues
- Code never arrives — Confirm you typed the exact invited email. Check spam/junk for portal@ocfls.com. Request a new code. If several requests still do not arrive, contact claire@ocfls.com.
- Code rejected or expired — Codes expire in 30 minutes and work once. Keep the original window open; request a new code if needed.
- New tab, phone, or closed window — That code will not work there. Open the portal on the device you will use and request a new code.
- Too many wrong guesses — Stop requesting codes and contact claire@ocfls.com.
- Wrong email or firm alias — Access is tied to the exact address FLS added.
- Expected a case but see none — You may not yet be active on that case, or you signed in with a different address. Contact claire@ocfls.com.
- Sharing the portal link — The link alone is not enough. The person must be on the case and sign in with their own invited email.
- Emailed a PDF to portal@ — That does not lodge the document. Use Lodge a Document in the portal.
- Lodging vs court filing — Portal lodging is not filing with Orange County Superior Court and is not service.
